A 12-year-old domestic worker has allegedly been tortured to death at a house in Sheikhupura, with the girl’s family accusing the homeowner’s wife of beating her with sticks, a private media outlet.
The girl, identified as Zainab, had been working at the residence of Chaudhry Rafaqat on Khalid Road for around a year and a half.
According to the girl’s family, the homeowner’s wife subjected Zainab to beatings that led to her death.
Police shifted the girl’s body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal procedures to help establish the cause of death.
Law enforcement officers arrested one suspect in connection with the incident and launched raids to apprehend the other suspects, according to the report.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Zainab’s death is ongoing.
