An 18-year-old first-year college student from Jhang died at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital on Tuesday, four days after she went missing. Her father has alleged that she was kidnapped, raped, and murdered by unknown assailants.

According to reports, the girl, a resident of Sultan Colony, left home on June 4 to collect her roll number slip and never returned. Her parents received a phone call the next evening informing them she was in a private hospital.

By the time they arrived, staff had already transferred her to DHQ Hospital, where she remained under treatment through the night before succumbing to her injuries.

Her father told reporters that unknown individuals abducted his daughter, subjected her to sexual violence, and then killed her.

He has filed an abduction case at Satellite Police Station and has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz to ensure justice for his family.

Police say that the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the postmortem report.

Investigators are currently looking into multiple aspects of the case and have launched a search operation to identify and arrest those responsible.
