A 28-year-old female TikTok content creator lost her life after unidentified assailants opened fire on her vehicle in Taxila on August 14.
The victim, identified as Shamsu Bibi, also known as Ayesha, managed a Tiktok account with 1.3 million followers. She left her home in a vehicle accompanied by her 15-year-old sister, Asmiya Bibi, and her brother, Nematullah, after receiving a phone call from an individual named Kashi, who asked her to leave the house.
While the siblings were driving, two individuals on a motorcycle intercepted the vehicle and targeted it with gunfire. The attack left Shamsu Bibi with fatal bullet wounds. The shooting caused the vehicle to lose control, resulting in a crash. Shamsu Bibi died inside the car, while her younger sister suffered serious injuries. Medical teams transferred the injured sister to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad for treatment.
The victim’s father, Fazal, lodged a complaint at the Taxila Police Station, leading to the registration of a FIR [First Information Report].
In the complaint, Fazal stated that his daughter had operated her TikTok account for roughly three to four years. He disclosed that she maintained financial dealings with individuals identified as Kausar and Javed, also known as Shaheen.
According to the father, these individuals had issued death threats over demands for money repayment prior to the shooting.
Taxila police launched a multi-angle investigation into the incident and gathered evidence from the crime scene for forensic examination. Investigators impounded the victim’s vehicle to analyze bullet marks, entry points, and firing directions to establish the positions of the shooters.
Forensic experts gathered shell casings from the location to match them against potential murder weapons.
Law enforcement officers initiated the collection of CCTV [Closed-Circuit Television] footage along the travel route to map the trajectory of the motorcycle and identify the escape path of the perpetrators. Investigators requested mobile phone call records and data logs to verify the phone call that prompted the victim to leave her residence.
Police officials are also reviewing the victim’s social media activity and digital interactions to identify prior threats or disputes.
Following the completion of the post-mortem examination, police handed over the body of the deceased to her family.
