Tremors measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale were recorded in southern Lebanon as Israeli heavily bombed the area, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed.

AFP journalists reported feeling tremors as explosions continued and Israel released images showing a fireball erupting into the sky.

Israel said that the explosions were part of an operation to destroy Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure.

The explosions came as Israel continued strikes in southern Lebanon despite a United States (US)-brokered framework agreement.

Lebanon’s state news agency NNA reported that an Israeli airstrike hit residential areas in Mansouri in the Tyre district.

In the Bint Jbeil district, another Israeli strike targeted a house on the outskirts of Haris-Hadata in the Al-Arish area. The strike hit the house with two missiles and destroyed it, NNA reported.

An explosion was also reported inside the Ein el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon, an international media outlet reported, citing NNA.

No casualties were reported.

Israel said that it was prepared to carry out further strikes against Hezbollah after the demolition of tunnels in southern Lebanon. “We are ready and prepared to continue the campaign, to continue striking Hezbollah and at additional locations,” an official statement read.
