A day after viral reports claimed she had passed away, ghazal and folk legend Tahira Syed has released a video message on Facebook to rubbish the same.
Syed said rumours circulating on social media platforms lacked truth, and urged fans to stop the dissemination of unverified reports regarding her well-being.
“I have come to know that rumours are being spread about my health. I am absolutely fine, by the grace of God. I am living a really good life in New York. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes,” she said.
Syed maintained that she remained in good health, requesting the public to assist in correcting the false details online, and expressed gratitude for the concern and affection shown by individuals who contacted her following the initial reports.
Designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin supported the clarification by sharing a photograph of the artist, confirming she was well. Actor Bushra Ansari also shared Syed’s video clarification on her personal account.
Earlier, the fake claims had prompted fans to express grief over the reported loss.
