After 14 days of firefighting the fire in Balochistan’s Sherani district, the blaze is now under control. Due to the expansion of fire on a very large amount of land, forests of pine nuts and olives have been destroyed.

Fire was controlled with the efforts of all relevant departments. Firefighters from the provincial and national disaster management authorities for days tried to quench the flames, using rescue vehicles and firefighting equipments.

Iran also helped Pakistan in controlling the fire and sent a firefighting jet. Tehran sent its air tanker Ilyushin Il-76 to help put out fires.
