Pakistani singer Ali Zafar has revealed that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan once approached him to sing for one of his films.

In a recent interview, Ali Zafar said Shah Rukh Khan had heard his song “Sun Re Sajaniya” and later invited him to perform “Dard-e-Disco” for his film.

He said Shah Rukh Khan personally made the offer after appreciating his work and was keen on having him sing the track.

Ali Zafar shared that the actor had expressed the idea for him to sing the song, saying:

“They wanted me to sing their song ‘Dard-e-Disco’. It was from their film, the one with the six-pack and all that stuff”.

He added that at that time he was not in India, which is why the opportunity could not work out due to scheduling issues.

“At that time, I was not in India, so due to timing issues it could not happen,” he said.

“Dard-e-Disco” was later featured in the 2007 film Om Shanti Om, which became a major box office success.

The song was originally sung by Sukhwinder Singh, with music composed by Vishal-Shekhar.
