Social media personality Alina Amir has joined a protest movement by the mother of Aizal Ali, an 18-month-old who died after being sexually assaulted in Karachi.
Raising her voice for the family’s demand for justice and a fair investigation into the toddler’s killing, Amir shared a video from a protest demonstration on her Instagram account.
“A movement has been launched in Karachi, and it will now be taken to Lahore and eventually across Pakistan,” she said. “The purpose of this movement is to seek justice for Aizal.”
She appealed to the public to rally behind the cause, framing it as a matter that extends beyond one family’s grief.
“If we all become a part of this movement today, perhaps tomorrow no other child will have to go through something similar,” she said. “I request everyone, on humanitarian grounds, to stand with us and support this cause.”
In another video, Amir also urged people to attend a press conference and protest scheduled at the Lahore Press Club.
18-month-old Aizal Ali was taken from home by a relative in Karachi’s Qayyumabad area. According to the FIR [First Information Report], when the relative, namely Abdul Manan, returned with her an hour later, the child was found unconscious and in visible distress.
She was initially taken to a nearby private hospital before being referred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where she died.
