Actor Alizeh Shah has sparked a conversation online after sharing her thoughts on the growing short hair trend among Pakistani actresses through an Instagram story.
In the post, Alizeh warned her followers against cutting their hair after seeing celebrities sport shorter looks. “Khuda k liay apnay baal qurbaan karna band karayn actresses se inspire ho k (Please, stop sacrificing your hair getting inspired by actresses),” she wrote, urging fans to think twice before following the trend.
She then questioned the authenticity of the looks, suggesting that many actresses are not being entirely honest about their hair choices. “Aadho ne wig lagayi hui ha just to get attention, aadho ne baal pin up kiay huay hayn (Half of them are wearing wigs just to get attention, and half have simply pinned their hair up),” she wrote.
She further pointed out the practical reality fans face when they follow the trend. “Jis ek bandi ne actually baal kaatay hn wo to wig laga legi, ap logo ko 3 saal wait karna parega wapas baal lambay karnay k liay (The one woman who actually cut her hair will just put on a wig, while you will have to wait three years to grow your hair back),” she wrote, noting that while an actress can simply reach for a wig, ordinary people could spend years waiting for their hair to grow back.
Alizeh went a step further, calling drastic hair cuts a health concern. “Cutting your hair that short is a form of self harm,” she added.
Her comments appeared directed at the recent short hair trend that several prominent Pakistani actresses have embraced, including Saheefa Jabbar Khattak, Hania Aamir, and Sajal Aly.
The Ehd-e-Wafa actress has been a frequent topic of discussion on social media in recent months.
She was also involved in a public exchange with singer Zoha Wasim over her hit song “Majboor,” which began after Alizeh criticised the track.
