Pakistan’s Got Talent, the latest addition to the country’s growing list of reality competition shows, will make its television debut on July 4.

A trailer released on Sunday announced the premiere date for the show that will air every Saturday and Sunday on Geo Entertainment, featuring actor Mehwish Hayat, comedian Tabish Hashmi, singer Ali Zafar and Usman Bashir of Shark Tank Pakistan as judges.

Pixel Entertainment announced in August that it had signed a deal with global entertainment company Fremantle to bring Got Talent, the world’s most successful reality show format, to Pakistan for the first time.

The franchise, originally created by Simon Cowell and owned by Fremantle, has aired in more than 70 countries and holds the Guinness World Record for the most successful reality TV format in history.

The show will be open to singers, dancers, magicians, comedians, acrobats, beatboxers and performers of any kind looking to showcase their talent.

Nationwide open auditions are set to begin soon, giving contestants from across the country a chance at recognition. A call for auditions was first made in February.

It merits a mention that Pakistan’s Got Talent joins Rap Icon Pakistan, Masterchef Pakistan, Shark Tank Pakistan and Pakistan Idol as part of the growing wave of reality competition shows in Pakistani entertainment.
