Pakistani all-rounder Arafat Minhas has earned a nomination for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Player of the Month award.

Minhas was one of Pakistan’s standout performers in the home ODI tri-series triumph. He scored 149 runs in five matches at an average of 29.80 and a strike rate of 119.20. He also took nine wickets at an average of 23.22 and an economy rate of 5.13.

Against England, he scored a crucial 59 and then returned figures of 6/40. Those are the second-best ODI bowling figures by a Pakistan bowler on home soil. In the final against Sri Lanka, he hit 61 off 31 balls to help Pakistan chase down 326 and lift the trophy. He also won the Player of the Series award.

South Africa’s Marco Jansen and West Indies batter Shai Hope join Minhas on the shortlist, all of whom fans can vote for now.

Per the details of other nominees’ performances, Jansen delivered a series-defining performance against Australia across three ICC World Test Championship matches, and South Africa won the series 2-1.

In the second Test at Gqeberha, he scored 85 and took six wickets as South Africa won by an innings and 31 runs. He added another half-century and three wickets in the third Test, which decided the series.

His form also took him to the top of the ICC Men’s Test All-Rounder Rankings.

Hope, on the other hand, starred with the bat against India in the ODI and T20I series. He scored an unbeaten 162 in the third ODI in New Chandigarh and led the West Indies to a successful chase of 352.

It was his side’s highest successful ODI chase. In the five-match T20I series, he hit two centuries, including an unbeaten 102 off 50 balls in the fourth match.

Hope finished the series with 261 runs at a strike rate of 190.51.
