Pakistani Olympic gold medalist and star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem will face India’s Olympian Neeraj Chopra once again next month, marking their first head-to-head clash in a year.
Both athletes are set to compete in the Diamond League in Poland on August 16, their first meeting since the Paris Olympics, where Arshad delivered a stunning performance to win gold ahead of Neeraj.
After Poland, Arshad will also take part in the Diamond League in Zurich, Switzerland, at the end of August, where another possible face-off with Neeraj could take place on August 27.
Following recent military clashes between Pakistan and India, Arshad avoided commenting on questions related to Neeraj Chopra.
Recently, Arshad declined Neeraj Chopra’s invitation to participate in an event in India, citing training commitments.
Meanwhile, Neeraj faced backlash at home for inviting his Pakistani rival despite strained relations between the two countries.
