Pakistan’s Olympic gold medallist javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem and fellow athlete Yasir Sultan have successfully qualified for the final of the javelin throw event at the Asian Athletics Championship in South Korea.
Competing in Group A of the qualifying round, Arshad Nadeem delivered a stunning performance by achieving a throw of 86.34 meters on his very first attempt. This impressive distance was not only the longest throw of the round but also secured him a direct spot in the final of the championship.
On the other hand, Indian javelin thrower Yash managed a throw of 76.67 meters on his first attempt.
Following Arshad’s powerful display, Pakistan’s Yasir Sultan also managed to lock in a place in the final. Yasir threw the javelin 76.07 meters in his first attempt, which was enough to book him a place in the final round.
The final of the javelin throw event at the Asian Athletics Championship is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
