At least 10 people lost their lives and dozens were injured in separate road accidents that occurred in different cities on Sunday, including in Ghotki, Dera Ismail Khan, Layyah and Chichawatni.
According to details, four people were killed and two others injured when a car veered off the road and plunged into a ditch while coming from Dera Ismail Khan's Al Markalan village.
Rescue officials confirmed that among the dead were two brothers and a child, adding that the bodies of the deceased, and the injured, had been shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment.
Separately, in a tragic incident, three people were killed and over eight others injured when a speeding truck overturned on Motorway M-5 near Ghotki in Sindh.
Motorway Police said the deceased and injured were all from Muzaffargarh's Alipur Jatoi area, adding that animals being transported in the truck were also injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, as per rescue officials, a speeding bus was involved in an accident near Nawan Kot, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 26 others.
The passenger bus was travelling from Lahore to Karor Lal Esan in Layyah. Six of the injured, who are in critical condition, have been referred to Nishtar Hospital in Multan for treatment.
Separately, a lawyer was killed and two others were injured when a car overturned in the Iqbal Nagar area of Chichawatni. They were returning from 19/14 L village, hospital officials said.
