Atiqa Odho has raised concerns over what she considers a miscasting issue in Dar-e-Nijaat, specifically Saba Hameed’s role as Faran Tahir’s mother in the drama.
Speaking on a recent episode of Kya Drama Hai, Odho said that the casting choice did not sit well with her, especially since Saba Hameed and Faran Tahir also appear together as husband and wife in the parallel drama Bus Tera Saath Hu.
“The casting is fantastic except for the fact that I don’t understand how Saba Hameed can play the role of Faran Tahir’s mother. It was not making sense. Of course, we can play any character as actors, like Sania is also playing Ahsan’s mother, but because another drama Bus Tera Saath Hu is airing parallel to Dar E Nijat where they are playing husband and wife, that’s why it was not digested [well],” she said.
Odho went on to say that Saba Hameed’s character’s age and look made the role even harder for her to accept.
“To me, it’s unacceptable. I don’t know about others, but I can’t see it. Also, Saba till date is a chic, stylish and beautiful woman who doesn’t look like a Nani or Dadi. She looked unrealistic, her look was forced, as she is not a Nani-Dadi woman. This thing stuck with me while watching the show,” Odho added.
Dar-e-Nijaat airs every Friday and Saturday at 8pm on ARY. Written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Saqib Khan, the drama features an ensemble cast that includes Sheheryar Munawar, Durefishan Saleem, Nameer Khan, Sania Saeed, Saba Hameed, Faran Tahir and Adnan Jaffar.
The story centers on emotional struggles and moral dilemmas as its characters search for peace amid difficult personal circumstances.
