Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has taken a dig at Karachi’s transport system after resharing a clip from the drama serial Bas Tera Saath Ho.
The clip shows Anas, played by Farhan Saeed, and Ansa, played by Sana Javed, reciting a poem about the struggles of travelling by bus in Karachi.
Sharing the clip, Bokhari wrote, “Brother, you have to admit, Karachi’s development and its transport’s fame are now being used for entertainment in dramas. Well done, brother!”
In the clip, both actors recite the poem “Karachi ki bus mein safar ho raha hai,” written by the late Syed Zamir Jafri.
The poem is one of Jafri’s well known humorous works and pokes fun at the chaos and overcrowding commuters face while travelling on a packed bus in Karachi.
Bas Tera Saath Ho follows Anas, who lives with his grandfather and uncle’s family where he is mistreated and forced to do the housework despite getting little share of family resources. He becomes classmates with Ansa, who faces her own fight for her rightful property share and college fees from her brother, and the two grow close after being paired as the top students in their class.
The drama currently airs on ARY Digital.
