Dr Wadiat Fatima, daughter of Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, has cleared the written examination for the Central Superior Services (CSS) 2026 competitive examination, according to media reports.

Wadiat’s success was acknowledged by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, who congratulated her and other successful candidates.

“Congratulations to all candidates who have cleared the CSS written examination, with special congratulations to Dr Wadiat, daughter of Punjab Information & Culture Minister Azma Bokhari,” Hayat said in a post on X.

He described the achievement as a reflection of “hard work, determination & perseverance” and wished the successful candidates well as they progressed towards a career in public service.

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) said 24,321 candidates had applied for the CSS 2026 written examination, while 17,351 appeared in at least one paper.

Of those who appeared, 476 candidates — 239 men and 237 women — qualified for the next stage, resulting in a pass rate of 2.74 per cent.

The successful candidates will now undergo further stages of the selection process, including a medical examination, psychological assessment and viva voce, the FPSC said.

Azma Bukhari also expressed gratitude to those who congratulated her daughter. She attributed Wadiat’s achievement to her daughter’s consistent hard work, dedication and determination.

The CSS examination is conducted by the FPSC to recruit candidates into various occupational groups of Pakistan’s civil service.

Candidates who qualify in the written examination must complete the subsequent stages of the selection process before final selection and allocation to an occupational group.
