Big blow to Peshawar Zalmi as major pace duo leaves for national duty

News Desk

Peshawar Zalmi are set to lose two of their key pace bowlers, Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana, to Bangladesh national duty after their Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) match today against Multan Sultans.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had initially issued No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to both players until April 12, but extended them by one day on requests from both Zalmi and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), allowing the duo to feature in today's match on April 13.

Nahid and Shoriful will join the Bangladesh ODI squad on April 14, as the team prepares for an upcoming series against New Zealand.

Nahid made a solid impact during his time with Zalmi, picking up 5 wickets in 3 matches at an impressive economy of 5.20.

With the two departing, Peshawar will rely on Ali Raza, Khurram Shehzad, Shah Nawaz Dhani, Kashif Ali and Tymal Mills to carry the pace workload for the remainder of the tournament.

Peshawar Zalmi currently sits at the top of the PSL 11 standings with 9 points from five matches, winning four and having one washed out.
