Karoline Leavitt Makes History as the Youngest Press Secretary in White House Briefing
Karoline Leavitt made her debut on Tuesday in the White House press room. She said she would be available to the media often and would like to open the press room to podcasters and social media influencers.
During her first briefing as the public face of President Donald Trump's second administration, Karoline Leavitt answered questions for roughly 47 minutes. She discussed the effects of a White House freeze on federal grants and loans and the early days of the administration's effort to deport undocumented migrants from the United States.
As a spokesperson, Leavitt has the role of explaining the potential implications of Trump's statements for public policy and political processes, while Trump usually speaks directly for himself. "I assure you that you'll hear from both of us as often as we can," Leavitt said.
At age 27, she is also the youngest person ever White House press secretary and the sixth working mother to serve in that post. Karoline Leavitt graduated from Saint Anselm College, a liberal arts college in Manchester, New Hampshire. Here, she attended on an athletic scholarship. Karoline Leavitt played for the softball team, graduating in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in politics and communications, being the first in her immediate family to graduate from college.
Trump Urges US to Compete as China’s DeepSeek AI Faces Security Scrutiny
Karoline Leavitt commented on Tuesday that Americans are thinking about the national security issues of the Chinese app DeepSeek. It is an artificial intelligence created by China.
According to her remarks, the National Security Council is now considering the possible impact of this application. "This should be a wakeup call to the American AI industry," Leavitt stated while adding that the White House was attempting to “ensure the supremacy of America in the field of AI," which was great news for Americans.
"DeepSeek should serve as a wake-up call to American competition. There is a need to be laser-focused on winning," Trump declared.
