RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter White Jr. in the television series Breaking Bad, has committed suicide at the age of 34, his representative confirmed.

Brownsville Police Department, Texas received a call at 12:50pm local time on Monday and found the actor dead at his home, an international media outlet reported.

At the time, police said that the cause and manner of death remained undetermined as an investigation was underway.

Mitte played Walter White Jr., the son of Walter White, portrayed by Bryan Cranston, and Skyler White, played by Anna Gunn, throughout all five seasons of Breaking Bad, which aired from 2008 to 2013. Like his character, Mitte had cerebral palsy.

In a statement shared on Monday, his representative expressed grief over his death and described him as an actor, philanthropist and disability rights advocate.

“Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion,” the representative said.

Following Breaking Bad, Mitte appeared in several television productions, including Switched at Birth, Robot Chicken, This Close, Now Apocalypse and The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You!).
His film credits included Dixieland, Who’s Driving Doug, The Recall, Mower Boy, Time Share and The Oak Room.

Before joining Breaking Bad, he appeared in short films such as Stump and Weird Science 2: Strange Chemistry, as well as the film House of Last Things.

At the time of his death, Mitte had several projects in pre-production and production. He had also been promoting his latest film, Talking to Strangers.
