Pakistani celebrities and social media influencers reacted ecstatically to the news of Pakistan brokering a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States (US) on Wednesday. As the threat of destructive military action loomed on the horizon, Pakistan's diplomatic breakthrough prompted a wave of response from celebrities who praised the mediation efforts of the government and military leadership.

Mahira Khan noted that the news sparked pride among Pakistanis globally. “Pakistanis around the world feeling proud. In a world where war mongering is rising, we chose peace and mediated it,” she wrote, ending her note with “Pakistan Zindabad” .

Singer Farhan Saeed described the event as a “big relief” for both the region and the world, calling it the “biggest diplomatic win for Pakistan”.

Actor Aijaz Aslam remarked that Pakistanis stood “tall with pride” because the country had “carved out a monumental moment in history” by bringing together opposing parties. He congratulated Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defense Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, stating their leadership “has put Pakistan at the forefront of peace” as global eyes turned toward Islamabad.

TV host Shaista Lodhi also expressed relief, calling the sight of Iran and the US sitting down to resolve issues “encouraging.” She thanked the prime minister and the armed forces for their role in the de-escalation.

Mira Sethi referred to Pakistan as a “global peace broker,” while her Doctor Bahu co-star Adeel Husain reshared content identifying the nation as a “global peacemaker,” stating he is a “proud Pakistani.”

Adding to the reactions, Sajal Aly posted a Pakistani flag on her social media, writing, “May peace always prevail over war.”

Social media influencer and blogger Bilal Hassan, known as "mystapaki," urged the public to “put its politics aside” and express pride for the country securing a ceasefire. Actor Durefishan Saleem reshared Hassan’s post with a satirical remark, writing, “Can't wait for ranveer singh to take the credit for this in dhurandhar 3.”

While the majority of the industry focused on the international achievement, model Shehzad Noor connected the news to local issues. He noted that while the PM had helped open the Strait of Hormuz, he should now look toward opening University Road in Karachi.
