Fallout from Nadia Khan’s mocking of Sajal Aly’s dialogue delivery in the smash hit drama serial “Zanjeerain” continued after celebrities joined fans in slamming her.

In a recent episode of her YouTube show, Nadia mimicked Sajal’s delivery during the character’s escape scene, calling her performance underwhelming.

“Rabia was constantly running and saying, ‘Is anyone there?’ Suppose you are running. How would you run, and what would you do if people were chasing you to harm you? What would you say,” Nadia asked.

She continued by mimicking Sajal, “She was so politely saying, ‘Is anyone there?’ Instead, you would be loudly shouting, ‘Save me!’ If you were trying to save yourself, would you call for help in such a low voice?”

“The movements and visuals did not match the voice. And Danyal also heard this low voice,” she added.

Imitating Sajal’s tone further, she said, “From her tone, it felt as if someone was sitting on a rock, playing with water, and she is softly saying, ‘Is anyone there?’ ‘Is… is anyone there?’ ‘Is anyone there… in my dreams?'”

The clip drew swift backlash from fellow artists. Actor Saba Faisal commented on an Instagram post criticizing Nadia, writing, “Nadia Khan, you aren’t sitting in your living room, you are on social media. Why do you speak like this against your fellow artists? Who are you to criticize the one and only Sajal Aly?”

Writer Saima Akram Chaudhry also criticized Nadia’s remarks about Zanjeerain, a drama she penned. “This woman, Nadia Khan, needs a psychiatrist for her bad behaviour. She ruined one of my best scripts, which I had written with so much passion, through her pathetic performance, and now she is criticizing others,” she wrote.

Actress Maya Ali weighed in on Instagram Stories, defending Sajal without directly naming Nadia. “With all due respect, we need to understand the difference between mocking, mimicry and constructive criticism,” she wrote.

“Sajal Ali has done countless projects, represented Pakistan on international platforms, and earned recognition for her outstanding performances at such a young age. Every artist deserves respect for their hard work and talent. Chasing ratings should never come at the cost of someone’s dignity. As I have always said, there will never be another SAJAL,” she added.

The clip triggered a wave of reactions online, with many accusing Nadia of targeting Sajal out of envy.

One user wrote, “She is jealous of Sajal.”

Another user wrote, “Nadia got another chance to go viral because of Sajal.”

One person wrote, “She’s lost it.”

Another commented, “Don’t make Sajal untouchable. She is amazing.”

One account observed, “I wish someone would give her work too, so she wouldn’t have to mimic a superstar.”

Another user wrote, “Well, Nadia got her chance to go viral.”

Zanjeerain is written by Farhat Ishtiaq, directed by Shahzad Kashmiri and produced by Momina Duraid for Hum TV. The story follows tribal rivalries and conspiracies, with Sajal Aly, Ameer Gilani, Danyal Zafar and Sehar Hashmi in the lead roles.

This is not the first time Nadia Khan has mocked Sajal Aly’s dialogue delivery. She previously mocked both Saima Noor and Sajal Aly for their performances in the drama “Main Manto Nahi Hoon,” saying the characters sounded weak and unconvincing.
