A Chinese firm is set to launch its online taxi service in Pakistan on August 10. The service known as Buraq will be launched in six major cities of the country including Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, and later it would be extended to other cities.

According to officials, the service would initially offer a 10% discount on rides to educational institutions, medical centers and marriage halls. Professionals including teachers, army personnel and students would also be given special discounts. The application will be available on the Google Play Store.

The application will work like the existing Careem or Uber and people who want to work with this taxi service could register their vehicles with the company without any precondition. Buraq drivers will get 97% share of their earned money, while the company will get only 2% from drivers while 1% would be added to Drivers’ Club for health and education services for the families of drivers.

People could register their bikes, cars, rickshaws, pickups, Qingqi loaders, and trucks with the company and get multiple ways of earning.
