Dewan Motors is set to introduce Chinese luxury automaker Hongqi to Pakistan in the first quarter of 2027, expanding its presence in the country’s premium automobile market, according to social media claims.

Hongqi, a marque of China’s FAW Group, has begun building anticipation for the launch through a social media teaser announcing a new expression of automotive luxury.

The teaser was posted in collaboration with Dewan Motors, signalling the company’s role in bringing the brand to Pakistan.

The companies have yet to disclose details of the local line-up.

Models, prices, specifications, booking arrangements and the exact launch date have not been officially announced.

Hongqi is known for producing premium sedans and crossovers, with a design language that has been compared with established European luxury marques.

The brand also has a long association with China’s state institutions, with its vehicles historically used for official transportation and at major national events.

Established in 1958 under FAW Group, Hongqi produced its first sedan that same year, describing it as an independently developed Chinese passenger vehicle.

The name Hongqi, translates as “Red Flag”, became associated with prestige and official use in China.

The marque has since developed from a largely state-linked manufacturer into a commercially focused luxury automaker.

A major expansion of the brand began in 2018, with greater emphasis on contemporary design, technology and international markets.

Hongqi currently promotes its vehicles on the basis of luxury, advanced technology and design elements drawing on Chinese culture. Its international expansion has taken the brand into markets in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
