Acclaimed Hollywood director Christopher Nolan wore an Ajrak tie at a The Odyssey s world tour event in New York City.

Ajrak is a traditional block-printed textile native to the Sindh province of Pakistan, known for its complex geometric patterns created using natural indigo and crimson dyes.

The promotional event took place at the AMC Lincoln Square 13 theater, closing down Lincoln Square. The venue was decorated to resemble ancient Greece, featuring a 40-foot Trojan horse along the red carpet.

Cast members from the film also attended the gathering. Zendaya appeared in Matiéres Fécales paired with MF x Christian Louboutin heels, while Anne Hathaway wore custom Prada. Charlize Theron arrived in custom Christian Dior and Tiffany & Co. jewellery and Tom Holland wore an outfit by Fear of God.

The event follows recent online discussions on Zendaya’s fashion choices during a promotional photo-call in London on July 5. The actor wore earrings constructed from a pair of gold medallions discovered in Iran in 1947. Estimated to be roughly 3,000 years old, the pieces belong to the Ziwiye hoard, a collection of historical jewelry and artifacts distributed among global museums.

The public reaction to the jewelry choice was largely negative. Social media users questioned how the artifacts entered a private collection in London, whether they were removed from Iran legally and whether the communities associated with the heritage approved of their contemporary use.
