Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke launched a scathing critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, mocking official legislative responses to widespread educational fraud and asserting that the administration’s primary solution to systemic paper leaks is simply telling ministers to get more active on Instagram.
Abhijit Dipke took a jab at the prime minister on Saturday on proposals for resolving the precarious situation, stressing that the country should have an educated prime minister. “PM Modi’s solution in the Cabinet for paper leaks is for ministers to get more active on Instagram. This is why a PM should be educated,” Dipke noted.
Earlier on Friday , Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked his Union Cabinet ministers to actively reach out to Gen Z on Instagram by posting interactive content and reels. The development preceded a sharp rebuke from demonstrators, who maintained high-tension protests across capital streets while demanding the immediate resignation of Indian Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan following weeks of nationwide student unrest.
Further, the CJP representatives held crucial talks with federal authorities that day, prompting government officials to request a single day to finalize a formal decision about the education minister’s contested tenure.
Protest demonstrations intensified significantly after security forces cracked down on students marching toward parliament, leaving dozens injured on July 20. Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had given the zest to the protests, concluded his twenty-six-day hunger strike late Friday after receiving government assurances about examination reforms and protection for demonstrators.
Amid political chaos in the country, PM Modi posted a vertical selfie video at midnight on Thursday promising a tough new law to penalize examination paper leaks, which prompted Dipke’s viral commentary. CJP Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka asserted that the protests would continue expanding until the education minister stepped down from office.
“The protest will continue and will keep growing until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. If that does not happen soon, we will be forced to announce another nationwide protest call,” said Ranka.
Demonstrations continue across the country, as protestors slept on pavements overnight while chanting slogans against the administration. Meanwhile, security forces maintained a heavy presence in the capital region, suspending mobile internet services in multiple zones and temporarily closing eighteen metro stations to manage the crowds.
