Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke claimed on Saturday that the party’s official Instagram account had been suspended.
Dipke shared a screenshot showing that the account was unavailable, slamming the move in a post on X.
“They took down the official Instagram handle of Cockroach Janta Party. Bloody cowards!” he wrote.
However, the account was later restored and the party regained access to it.
In another post on X, the party confirmed that the issue had been resolved.
“CJP Instagram handle was taken down this morning. But we have been able to successfully recover the account,” the party stated.
The suspension sparked heated reactions on social media, with several users linking the incident to ongoing youth-led protests across India.
“Government is terribly scared of all the youth protest movements taking place across India, with little kids demanding greater accountability & better infrastructure. What began with CJP at Jantar Mantar… has now spread across India & that has rattled/spooked the politicians,” one user wrote.
Another user criticised the timing of the suspension, writing, “This is shameful. Snatching away freedom on the very day of its celebration is the mark of a coward. Cowardly Modi.”
Some users also accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to suppress political opposition.
“The BJP is scared. The more they mess up, the more they are nearing their extinction. They will never come back to rule in 100 years. They have sealed their fate,” one post read.
Another user wrote, “Soon entire BJP will be deleted. The criminal fraud are getting desperate. Victory is close by.”
Several people also called on Instagram to explain why the account had been taken down.
“Instagram, this is unacceptable. You owe us an explanation for taking down this account. You cannot silence people or play with our future without a valid reason. Restore the account within one hour and explain your decision. We demand answers, not silence,” one person wrote.
