Conflicting reports have emerged over an alleged meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari in London, with journalist Murtaza Ali Shah rejecting claims that Bukhari was in the UK during Naqvi’s recent visit.
The conflicting accounts followed remarks by journalist Muhammad Malick, who said Naqvi was in London and had held an hour-long meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari.
Malick said he had been informed that Naqvi had been given eight days to “ask them what their decision is and let them know.”
He also said Bukhari was in London and that reports had emerged of meetings involving him.
“Some meetings are being reported, but one or two sources have confirmed” them, Malick said, adding that it remained to be seen how much truth there was in the reports.
Malick further said “two to three plans” were emerging in connection with the reported developments.
Shah, however, disputed the claim that Bukhari was in London.
In a post on X, he said Bukhari had not been in the UK since more than three months and was currently in Dubai.
Shah also said in his post that there was “no record” of Bukhari being in the UK during the period Naqvi was in London for about five days.
He added that Naqvi left for Pakistan on Wednesday night.
Shah said he had reported on Zardari’s meeting with Naqvi in London, adding that his report was published about two hours after the president landed in the British capital.
