Consumer court fines salon Rs 60,000 for not completing bride’s makeup

Lahore consumer court judge, Waseem Afzal Mian, imposed a fine of Rs60,000 on a salon for not completing the makeup of a bride. The case was filed by Dr Shazia, reports, SAMAA News.

According to the complainant, she made a booking for her cousin for bridal makeup from the salon on September 30, 2021, for the wedding event on October 16.

The management of the salon asked for the payment of Rs10,000 for the services and took Rs5,000 in advance.

When they came on the wedding day, the remaining amount was paid when makeup started. However, the salon asked for another Rs15,000 during makeup.

When the extra amount was not paid, the beautician refused to complete the makeup of the bride and forced them out of the salon.

The bride had to complete her makeup from a different salon.

The plaintiff requested to impose a fine of Rs1 million on the salon for causing mental distress and ruining the special day of the bride.

The salon administration did not appear in the court despite the various notices sent to them.
