Danish Taimur clarifies controversial statement on multiple marriages
Renowned Pakistani actor and host Danish Taimur has addressed the controversy surrounding his statement on four marriages.
He recently faced strong criticism over a remark made during his Ramadan transmission on a private TV channel. While discussing multiple marriages, his words sparked backlash on social media.
During the conversation, Danish Taimur stated, "I have permission from God to have four marriages. I am not doing it ‘for now.’ That’s another matter."
The phrase "for now" led to speculation, with many assuming he was hinting at future marriages. As his remarks went viral, fans expressed their anger across various platforms.
Following the criticism, Danish Taimur released a video message to clarify his statement.
Addressing his fans, he said, "I know you’re all upset. Some think I disrespected my wife, Ayeza Khan, but that’s not the case at all."
He explained, "I love my wife very much. I often use the word ‘currently,’ which simply means I am not thinking about anything else at the moment. I always live in the present and don’t talk much about the future because, eventually, we will all die."
Admitting that his choice of words may have caused misunderstandings, he added, "I mistakenly used this word during my conversation with Maulana Sahib. If my words hurt anyone, I sincerely apologise from the bottom of my heart."
While Danish Taimur’s statement was under scrutiny, rumours also surfaced about alleged differences between him and Ayeza Khan. However, Ayeza Khan publicly supported her husband, commenting on his post, "I love you very much. May God always be with us."
Despite his explanation, fan reactions remained mixed—some appreciated his apology, while others urged him to be more mindful of his words in the future.
