Actor and singer Danyal Zafar has announced a break from showbiz after overworking himself over the past two years, saying he needs to prioritise his health and recover before returning to his professional commitments.

Zafar shared the announcement in an Instagram story that featured a picture of an intravenous infusion bag. He said that his schedule had kept him travelling consistently, leaving him with little time to rest between his acting and music commitments.

“The last two years have kept me on the road consistently,” he said, explaining that shoots, shows, album recordings and other commitments had left him spending no more than a few days in one place.

Zafar described managing his acting and singing careers simultaneously as “a tumultuous feat” and stated that the workload had taken a toll on him. He added that he had reached a “breaking point” and had been instructed to put his health ahead of his professional responsibilities.

“I’ve been ordered to put my health above everything else for now,” he said, adding that he intended to follow the instructions.

“Everything must go on hold,” Zafar said, announcing that he will take time off to rest, recover and find his way back to full health.

The announcement came as Zafar prepared to release his next studio album ‘STORMS & Serenity’, on Saturday. He has also appeared as the lead character in two television dramas, Raqaas, aired on Green Entertainment, and Zanjeerain, which aired on HUM TV.

Earlier, in an Instagram post dated October 6, Zafar had spoken about his health and the demands of his work schedule. He said that he had suffered a fever that left him feeling “alive” but “broken” and acknowledged that he needed a break.

However, he added that he had not taken any days off after spending 415 days on the road. At the time, he thanked his fans for giving him the strength to continue despite the strain of his schedule.
