Denis Irwin: The Life and Achievements of an Irish Footballer

Dennis Irwin was born in Cork, Ireland on October 31, 1965. He is a former Irish professional footballer. Irwin is known for his outstanding performance and consistency. 

 

He started his career with Leeds United. From 1983 to 1986, he total participated in 72 matches there. After that, from 1986 to 1990 he joined Oldham Athletic where he played 167 matches.

 

In 1990 Irish footballer “Denis Irwin” joined Manchester United, where he served for 12 years. He scored 33 goals in 529 matches. During this time, he won numerous honors including seven Premier League titles, two FA Cups, one League Cup, and one UEFA Champions League. 

 

The legend of Irish football Densi Lrwin made him an important part of the team due to his defensive skills and ability to take free kicks and penalties. Denis Irwin played 56 matches on the international level that representing ireland, and scored 4 goals. He also participated FIFA World Cup in 1994.

 

After his retirement, he stepped into media and worked on MUTV as a presenter. He was also a columnist for the Sunday World newspaper in Ireland. Denis Irwin also collaborated with RTÉ Sport on its coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
