Taylor Swift’s song “August” has been removed from TikTok in the United States (US) after it was used in a video by President Donald Trump’s campaign account, featuring him and his wife Melania.
The video was posted four days ago on the @TeamTrump account with the caption, “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august.”
It showed Donald and Melania Trump watching fireworks from a balcony, alongside the text, “Mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president.”
However, the video on US version of TikTok now displays a message saying, “The copyright owner hasn’t made this sound available in your country.”
While it is not yet clear whether Swift or her representatives directly requested the song’s removal, @TeamTrump account has around 14 million followers and was created ahead of the 2024 US presidential election.
It has continued to post videos since Trump returned to office for a second term.
It merits a mention that this is not the first time a Trump campaign video with Swift’s music has lost its audio, as the same happened to one posted in November 2025 using the song “Father Figure”.
Swift and Trump have also previously clashed publicly. In September 2024, Trump wrote “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on social media after Swift announced her support for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Swift said that she was voting for Harris because she supported the rights and causes the Democratic candidate stood for.
