Pakistani comedian Zaid Ali took aim at fellow content creator Rajab Butt during a heated TikTok live session, telling him that subscriber numbers mean nothing without respect.
Zaid argued that Rajab had spent his career chasing numbers rather than building genuine credibility. “Don’t insult a donkey, man,” he said while reading a comment likening the TikToker to a donkey. “Even a donkey works hard to earn its name,” he said, adding that a donkey builds its reputation through effort while Rajab, in his view, had never worked hard for anything.
He then extended the comparison further, saying that even a dog is better than Rajab because of its loyalty. “You can’t even compare Rajab to a dog, because a dog is loyal,” he said, insisting he did not want to insult dogs either by putting them in the same sentence as his rival.
Turning to the subject of online popularity, Zaid acknowledged Rajab’s larger subscriber base but drew a clear line between numbers and honour. “You may have more subscribers than me, and that’s fine. But you have no respect,” he said. He went on to explain that respect outweighs subscriber counts and views in the long run.
According to Zaid, chasing numbers had always been Rajab’s priority rather than earning genuine respect from his audience. “You only wanted numbers. You wanted to get numbers by any means possible, and you achieved that. Congratulations,” he said, before urging Rajab to work toward something more meaningful going forward.
The comedian also rejected the label of “vlogger” that Rajab had apparently used to describe him. He clarified that his work centers on comedy videos, not day-to-day vlogging, stressing that he had no interest in being associated with that kind of content if it meant compromising his own image.
Zaid closed his remarks by contrasting the tone of their respective online communities, claiming that his own audience stands firmly behind him while Rajab’s does not extend him the same support. “There won’t be a single person in your chat saying, ‘Don’t share the screen with Zaid,'” he said, pointing to comments in his own live chat urging others not to associate with Rajab.
