Punjab Police have arrested two men involved in a house robbing Rs12 million (one crore 20 lac) from a house.
According to details, Ali Raza, the former driver of the house, was the mastermind of the robbery which he carried out with his accomplice Rashid.
As per details, the suspects were arrested after Johar Town police traced them using modern technology. The police have recovered 40,000 Saudi Riyals, 25 tolas of gold, expensive watches, and a pistol from the two men.
Saddar Superintendent Police (SP) Dr Ghayur Ahmed Khan said that further investigation into the robbery is underway.
Praising Station House Officer (SHO) Johar Town Mohsin Shehzad and the police team, Khan said that the protection of people’s lives and property is the top priority.
This is not the first case of its kind, as last month, a former driver was involved in executing a robbery in Lahore, where Rs10 million in cash and 80 tolas of gold were stolen from a house.
According to the police spokesperson, SHO Faisal Town, along with his team had arrested the suspect from Okara district. Police recovered Rs647,000 in cash, jewellery, a mobile phone, and other valuables from his possession.
SP Model Town Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar stated that the suspect had worked as a driver at the victim’s house a year ago. On Eid-ul-Azha, when the family had gone to visit their sister’s home, the suspect executed the robbery according to his plan and fled the scene.
The man confessed that he had been planning the robbery for the past four months.
