A drug-addicted man in India has murdered his eight-month-old pregnant wife with a sickle inside their residence, while their terrified five-year-old and two-year-old children witnessed the brutal act of domestic violence.
The murder took place in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh when Manisha attempted to stop her husband from continuing to drink after he returned home heavily intoxicated on Saturday night.
Following a violent argument that erupted between the couple, the enraged husband grabbed a sickle and repeatedly stabbed the wife in the head, body, and hands until she succumbed to her injuries.
In an attempt to cover up the murder, the perpetrator tied up his young children and tried to set the hut on fire when they began to cry. Afterward, he attempted to mislead authorities by placing an emergency call himself.
However, local police swiftly arrested the suspect after the five-year-old son bravely recounted the entire sequence of events to investigators.
Police inquiries revealed that the attacker was an alcohol and gambling addict, selling most of his agricultural land to sustain his habits. The victim’s brother reported that the couple had married in 2021, noting that the husband routinely subjected Manisha to physical abuse over trivial matters and had previously expelled her from the home multiple times.
Condemning the murder, the suspect’s father demanded maximum accountability from the judicial system. He stated that his son had committed an atrocious crime and deserved the harshest legal punishment, including the death penalty, for destroying an innocent family.
