Pakistani YouTuber Ducky Bhai has responded to online criticism surrounding his interaction with former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar after a clip from a recent event sparked widespread discussion on social media.
The controversy began when a video from the event went viral, with many users claiming that Ducky Bhai deliberately ignored Shoaib Akhtar. The clip fuelled speculation online, with several social media users and news pages suggesting there was tension between the two.
Addressing the claims through a Instagram Story, Ducky Bhai dismissed the speculation and called the viral narrative misleading.
“I’ve seen many pointless headlines, but this has to be one of the most ridiculous ones: ‘Shoaib Akhtar didn’t meet Ducky Bhai,'” he said.
He explained that the two had already met privately before the event began, greeting each other and having a proper conversation in a private room before Shoaib Akhtar was called on stage.
“Come on, guys. We were both at the same event and had already met privately in a room. We exchanged greetings, and then it was time for him to go on stage,” he added.
Ducky Bhai questioned why people expected the two to repeat the same interaction in front of cameras when they had already greeted each other away from public view.
“If we had already met off-camera, why would we need to meet again publicly?” he asked.
He also pointed out that there was no professional or personal connection between them that called for repeated public interactions, noting that they work in entirely different fields.
“I have nothing to do with him, and he has nothing to do with me. I’m not a crickter, and he’s not a vlogger,” Ducky pointed out.
Concluding his statement, Ducky Bhai urged people to think before turning minor moments into online controversies.
