An elderly man in Multan allegedly slit the throats of his daughter and her three young children on Friday following a heated argument over her separation from her husband, media reports said citing police.

 

According to police, 36-year-old Irshad Bibi had been living with her father Waris Khokhar in Basti Malook for the past two weeks along with her two-year-old twin sons Ahmed Ali and Muhammad Ali, and six-month-old daughter Mehnaz. She had moved in with her father after developing differences with her husband.

 

Police said Khokhar quarrelled with his daughter over the separation, locked her and the children inside a room, and later entered with a knife before allegedly killing them. “He slit their throats and they died on the spot,” police officials were quoted as saying.

 

Locals alerted the authorities and a police team reached the scene to find the suspect locked in the room with the bodies. Officers broke the door down, arrested Khokhar, and recovered the murder weapon.

 

The bodies were shifted to a morgue for autopsy, police added.
