Australian sports presenter Erin Holland has given birth to her first child with husband Ben Cutting, closing out a six-year battle with infertility that included repeated IVF cycles and pregnancy loss.
Holland, 37, a former Miss World Australia, delivered a healthy baby on Tuesday. She and Cutting, a former Australian cricketer, had spoken openly in the past about the toll of trying to conceive, revealing they went through 20 rounds of IVF, four miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy before finally becoming parents.
Holland shared the news with fans on Instagram through a series of black-and-white photographs taken in hospital, showing the newborn cradled in her arms with Cutting by her side. “All of the sudden, it all makes sense. It was always you,” she wrote in the caption.
Friends and fellow television personalities quickly filled the comments section with congratulations. Bachelor star Anna Robards wrote, “Congratulations. You’ll be the most perfect mum.” Jasmine Stefanovic, wife of Karl Stefanovic, kept her message short, adding, “Oh beautiful. Congratulations.” Today Extra host Sylvia Jeffreys was equally warm, writing, “Oh darling I’m so happy for all three of you, huge congratulations!!”
The birth comes just months after Holland announced she was expecting, following what she called a gruelling and costly road to pregnancy. She has said she and Cutting spent an estimated $150,000 on fertility treatment over five years, going through five egg collections, seven embryo transfers and thousands of injections along the way.
Reflecting on the emotional weight of the process earlier this year, Holland admitted the losses had made it hard to trust that this pregnancy was different. “I really never thought this would happen,” she said, describing how the anxiety lingered even after she passed major milestones.
Holland and Cutting married in Byron Bay in 2021 and have spent much of their relationship apart due to demanding careers.
Holland is well known to cricket fans for her presenting work in Australia and abroad, while Cutting built a career in domestic and international T20 leagues.
Holland has since become a vocal advocate for infertility awareness, sharing the highs and lows of her journey with followers in the hope of helping others going through similar struggles.
