Actor Asma Abbas has opened up about her battle with cancer and shared how she got better.

During a recent podcast with Ahmad Ali Butt, the Ranjha Ranjha Kardi actress said, "The early symptoms went unnoticed.”

Asma shared that before the diagnosis, she had experienced unusual symptoms. She noted significant weight loss, which she initially welcomed, unaware that it was being caused by cancer.

"Although the diagnosis took time, the disease was eventually detected, and I did not waste any time to start the treatment," she said.

Abbas was involved in two projects when she was disgnosed, but she chose to leave them immediately to begin her treatment.

She also shared, “Some of my friends and my cousin brother advised me to travel to the United States for treatment. My father used to say, ‘Death can come anywhere’, and so I decided to undergo treatment in Pakistan.”

Abbas also commented on the concept of the evil eye, saying that she believes “it is real”. She suggested that perhaps the deep love and concern from her family may have been a factor in her combatting her illness, but expressed gratitude for being healthy now.

She added that she also suffers from other health conditions, including neck plates, damaged arm muscles, and has been living with diabetes for nearly two decades.

“But I thank God for my good health and now I am actively working in the industry,” she confirmed.

The actress emphasized, “Staying active helps maintain physical and mental well-being and stepping away from work often leads to pain and weakness.”

It’s worth noting that Asma Abbas was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. In 2022, she revealed that her tumor went into remission through radiation, undergoing 30 sessions that left her physically weakened.

Later, in February 2024, she announced that she had fully recovered from cancer, saying the experience made her feel as if God had gifted her a new life out of love.
