Actor Fahad Sheikh has finally responded to a controversy surrounding a viral video appearing to show him mocking veteran actor Muhammad Ahmed on set.
He addressed the allegations through a series of Instagram stories and warned that legal action is underway against those who circulated misleading clips of the incident.
The row began after veteran actor Muhammad Ahmed appeared on Sheeba Khan’s podcast “Dareecha” and spoke about an on-set exchange with a younger actor that left him feeling humiliated. Ahmed said that a much younger co-star had mocked him repeatedly in front of cast and crew, passing uncomplimentary remarks about his appearance and questioning his continued relevance in the industry.
Among the incidents he described, Ahmed said that the actor once took a small hand fan from a female co-star and held it over his head as if it were a blow-dryer, telling those on set, “Look, I am styling his hair.” He said that he chose not to react at the time, unsure who around him might be recording.
A video later surfaced showing Fahad holding a small hand fan over Ahmed’s head as if it were a blow-dryer, saying, “Everyone is against you,” while people around him laughed and Ahmed appeared visibly uncomfortable.
In his response, Fahad rejected the “bully” framing entirely, arguing that a selective clip does not reflect the reality of his relationship with Ahmed. “Half cooked stories are always dangerous because that is exactly how people try to set a narrative,” he wrote. “What seems like a bully was not the case to begin with,” he added.
“On set we don’t work as co-actors, we bond like a family who laughs together, eats with each other and shares grievances,” he continued.
He added that the two had worked together on multiple projects over the years and shared a friendly rapport.
“This was not my first project with Ahmed Sahab. I have worked with him on many projects, and we shared a bond where we would laugh and have a good time on set,” he added. “I don’t know at what point the joke he initiated himself made him feel like we were bullying him, because that was never anyone’s intent,” he wrote.
Fahad also stressed his respect for Ahmed as a senior in the industry. He said that he had already apologized privately before the controversy became public.
“He is my senior, I respect him. I had apologized to him long before this whole parade of content sparked out,” he said. “He is senior to me, and I have no shame in apologizing to him publicly as well,” he added.
He confirmed that he was extending the apology publicly as well. “If Ahmed Sahab thinks my personal apology was not enough for him, then I apologize to him on this platform as well,” he wrote. “I hope you don’t keep any grudges against me, because I would never think of insulting my seniors in any case,” he wrote.
Fahad closed his statement with a warning to those he accused of distorting the story. “Legal action is being initiated against parties who circulated out-of-context video material to deliberately mislead the public,” he confirmed.
Ahmed’s original remarks drew wide support from within the industry, with several senior actors publicly backing him.
Ahmed has since acknowledged the outpouring of support from his colleagues.
