A video of a violent road rage incident in Karachi’s Ferozabad area has gone viral on social media after a suspect harassed a family, including a special-needs child, and damaged their vehicle over a dispute about giving way.
According to reports, the incident took place on the evening of May 20 when a young man allegedly grew enraged after a driver did not yield to his vehicle. The confrontation quickly turned physical, with the suspect approaching the family’s car, kicking and punching it, and intimidating the passengers inside.
The affected citizen, Waseem Cheema, later filed a written complaint at Ferozabad Police Station.
In his application, Cheema stated that he, his wife and his special-needs child were inside the car when occupants of a larger vehicle pressured him to reverse despite no space being available to do so.
When Cheema refused, the suspects issued threats and turned aggressive, damaging his vehicle in full view of witnesses while the incident was being recorded.
Karachi police confirmed receiving the written complaint, confirming that a case will be registered.
Officials said that the individuals involved will be arrested after the investigation concludes, and that the viral video is being examined as evidence.
