Actor Fareed Khan has shared details of the widely publicized on-set altercation between Minsa Malik and Alizeh Shah from 2021, revealing a firsthand account that places the blame squarely on Minsa.
Speaking on a podcast with Ahmed Ali Butt, Fareed said that he was part of the same scene when the altercation broke out. He explained that the scene called for Minsa and Alizeh to hug, but things took an unexpected turn once the cameras started rolling.
“I heard the sound of a slap. For about five seconds, I just stood there looking at them,” Fareed recalled. He said he initially thought Minsa may have improvised until he realized what had actually happened.
According to Fareed, there was no visible tension between the two actresses before that day. He said the issue traced back to a script change, revealing that Minsa had reportedly been unhappy after being moved from her original track to a new one. He believes that frustration may have spilled over onto Alizeh.
“I was a firsthand witness. I felt that an injustice had been done to someone,” Fareed said, adding that he would have spoken up regardless of who was involved.
He also addressed the backlash that followed his decision to speak out. Fareed said false stories began circulating within hours, claiming Alizeh had thrown a cigarette at him, hit him, and torn his clothes, allegations he insists are untrue.
He revealed that his mother encouraged him to give a statement once he told her what he had witnessed. “If you are a witness and you know that someone has been mistreated, then it is your responsibility to give a statement,” she told him.
Fareed said that his video was the first to surface publicly, which brought him a wave of threats from people demanding he stay silent. He acknowledged that speaking up affected his career, but said he does not regret it and would do it again.
The altercation dates back to 2021, during the filming of the drama serial Mohabbat Ki Aakhri Kahani. Minsa had filed an FIR [First Information Report] accusing Alizeh of physical assault, while Alizeh has maintained that it was Minsa who initiated the fight by slapping her, and that she only threw a shoe in response.
Actor Sami Khan, who was also present that day, later said the crew’s account pointed to a slapping incident during a hug scene.
The matter resurfaced this year when Alizeh sent Minsa a legal notice demanding an apology over what she called character assassination.
