Female swimmer, 20, retires after Olympics defeat
Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso, 20, has announced on Instagram that she is retiring after losing in the Paris Olympics 2024.
She secured the sixth position in the women’s 100m butterfly race.
The swimmer said in an interview, “I have retired from swimming and apologize to the people of Paraguay. I am happy to end my career at the Olympic Games. I have been swimming for a long time, and that was my last race.”
Luana Alonso also participated in Tokyo Olympics 2020 at the age of 17.
