Five men have been arrested in Dunyapur, district Lodhran, on charges of raping a 17-year-old boy and blackmailing him with a video of the assault.
A police spokesperson from Dunyapur city police said on Thursday that the main rapist, identified only as S, took the victim, identified as A, to his cousin’s house in Fazal Colony, drugged him and raped him there, recording the assault on video.
The spokesperson added that the accused later shared the video with four of his friends from other areas, who used it to blackmail the victim and raped him repeatedly afterward.
The FIR [First Information Report] stated that the boy was raped multiple times by all five suspects.
The victim’s father told police that he noticed his son was disturbed and asked him what had happened, after which the boy narrated the ordeal to him, after which the family approached the police.
Police raided several hideouts linked to the suspects before taking all five into custody, the spokesperson noted. The victim has been sent for a medical examination at Dunyapur THQ Hospital.
In a similar case this week, police in Gujrat arrested four seminary students, aged between 13 and 16, for allegedly gang-raping an 11-year-old fellow student and filming the assault in Kotla Qasim Khan village, within the jurisdiction of Lalamusa Saddar police station.
The victim’s grandfather, Nawaz Gujjar, filed the complaint with the police, stating that the child had lived and studied at the seminary for a year.
Gujjar said that he visited the seminary on Sunday and found the boy missing from his room, after which he searched the premises, heard screams coming from another room and opened the door to find one student assaulting his grandson while three others filmed the crime.
Following the complaint, police registered a case against the four minor suspects under sections 375A and 290 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
