Four children among five injured by grenade attack on Khuzdar SHO's house
Five people, including four children, were injured on Monday in a grenade attack on the residence of Station House Officer (SHO) Qadir Sheikh in Khuzdar, Balochistan.
The assault is believed to be part of ongoing insurgent operations in the area.
According to authorities, unidentified attackers threw a hand grenade at SHO Qadir Sheikh's residence.
The SHO's father and his brother's four children were injured in the attack, according to Khuzdar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Javed Zehri, who confirmed the incident.
The father was transferred to Karachi for further medical treatment, while the children were provided with necessary care at a local hospital.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident to identify the attackers and determine their motives.
Violence in Balochistan is on the rise at the time of this grenade attack. Recently, the Jaffar Express, a train carrying 440 passengers, was attacked by militants from the banned separatist organisation, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
The two incidents highlight the province's persistent security issues as rebel groups continue to target government buildings and security forces.
While investigations into the attacks continue, local law enforcement authorities are working to counter these threats.
