Four Pakistani fishermen have returned to Pakistan after spending nine years in Indian jails and have been handed over to the Edhi Foundation by Rangers officials.

The Edhi Foundation identified the men as Ahmed Nawaz, Abdul Rehman, Waqas Ali and Arshad, according to a spokesperson.

Nawaz and Abdul Rehman belong to Korangi No. 4 in Karachi, while Waqas Ali, son of Mushtaq, and Arshad, son of Akram, were unable to provide their residential addresses, the spokesperson added.

Following their release and return to Pakistan, the four men were handed over to the foundation for assistance with their onward journeys.

Edhi Foundation Chairman Faisal Edhi has directed the organisation to provide the fishermen with free transportation to help them reach their respective destinations.

The foundation is making arrangements to facilitate their travel after release from Indian prisons, according to the spokesperson.
