The postmortem report of Hina Javed, who was found dead at her home in Rawalpindi’s Lalkurti area, has revealed injuries to several parts of her body though the exact cause of her death remains unconfirmed.

According to the report, Hina suffered a fracture to her neck, while injuries were also discovered on her ribs and hip bone. The report further revealed that her pericardium was filled with blood.

While DNA samples were collected from the body and sent to a laboratory along with other samples taken for forensic analysis, it may be noted that Hina’s body was recovered from a bathroom at her residence within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station last week.

Police arrested her husband Faisal Asghar and a domestic worker named Zeeshan shortly afterward. According to initial information, Hina had allegedly been hanged by her husband.

The postmortem findings come a day after a duty magistrate granted police a three-day physical remand of both Asghar and Zeeshan.

Police produced both suspects before a magistrate and sought their physical remand. The investigation officer told the court that a rope and wire allegedly used in the killing had been recovered from the suspects.

The magistrate approved the request and sent the two suspects into police custody for three days.

Police also said that Asghar’s father had been included in the investigation and his statement had been recorded.
