Advocate Jennifer Bahadur has been allocated a reserved seat for women in the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Assembly, becoming the youngest member of the assembly at 25 years of age, on a ticket from PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz).

The Gilgit-Baltistan Election Commission on Friday allocated reserved seats for women and technocrats in the G-B Assembly after notifying 21 successful candidates elected on general seats in elections held earlier this month.

Among the women’s reserved seats, three went to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPPP) Parliamentarians, two to PML-N and one to Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP). PPPP nominees declared successful are Kalsoom Jahangir, Sadia Danish and Sobia Jabeen, while Dilshad Bano secured the seat allocated to IPP. Jennifer Bahadur and Sajida Begum were allocated two seats reserved for PML-N.

Born in 2001 in Hundur, Yasin, District Ghizer, Jennifer completed her secondary and higher secondary education at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Gahkuch. She went on to pursue an LLB degree from International Islamic University Islamabad, graduating in 2025 and is currently practising as an advocate before district and family courts in Islamabad.

She comes from a politically active family – her father, Advocate Niat Bahadur, is a senior lawyer and currently serves as General Secretary of PML-N Ghizer.

She has also secured a Chinese Government Scholarship to pursue a Master of Laws at Xi’an Jiaotong University.
