Girl who ran away from home found dead after returning back

A girl who ran away from her home was found dead soon after her parents brought her back to their house in Rawalpindi. 

A police official posted at the Jatli police station in the garrison city reported that a 17-year-old college student had been reported missing from her home in Syed Kasran. Her father and uncles eventually found her at Syed Adda and brought her back home. 

Reports of the girl being killed by her family spread in the area when the girl was found dead at home and quickly buried around 2 pm on the same day. 

A senior police official confirmed to DAWN that the matter is being investigated while a request will be filed in court to attain permission for the exhumation of the body. Legal proceedings will be initiated once an autopsy report has been filed. 

One week ago, police exhumed the body of a 21-year-old girl that bore signs of sexual assault and poisoning. Four people were arrested in the case where police suspect that the orphaned girl's brother-in-law had been raping her for a long time.
